Warsaw Classic Information

The James H. Warsaw 3-on-3 Classic

A student run basketball tournament played on McArthur Court at the University of Oregon began in 1998 to give U of O sports marketing students the opportunity to get valuable event marketing experience while championing an important cause. In seven years, the effort has raised more than $70,000 for Parkinson’s disease research and provided hundreds of students a real-world learning experience.

The 2009 edition gives students the same experiential learning opportunity and another cause that strikes very close to home. This year, the fundraising effort will seek to strengthen the Stephen Dember Memorial Scholarship Fund. The scholarship is the first for an undergraduate student studying Sports Marketing at the U of O and is named in honor of Stephen Dember who tragically passed away a few summers ago.

With more than 60 teams expected to invade historic Mac Court battling for bragging rights and a day of intense competition, the Warsaw Classic has established itself as one of the premiere 3x3 events in the region. In the process, the Warsaw Classic carries on its tradition of using the power of sport to make a difference…join us at the Pit!
